Sales have grown to achieve a 30% global market share in primary products.
Subsidiaries and joint ventures have been established in a total of 53 countries. Production facilities are located in 29 countries. In addition, a sales network extends throughout 81 countries, with local service in 400 locations.

SMC is a Japanese public company. The wide variety of products offered, over 11,000 basic types, were developed internally. AP Tech, acquired in 2007, have been the sole acquisition.
